360 Console Watch....Day 8

Finally some change in status. This has to be the longest 8 days in the history of mankind (or just me...time).

Looks like I'm getting a newer 360 returned to me.
SN: 907152473305

If I'm reading that right it's BOD: week ending August 18, 2007. Factory #5. I'll have to look that up.

Damn, that's pretty new. Let's see how quickly I get an email notice that it's gone out.

The Adventures of Matt in Holland or: Mr. Holland's Opus

The Adventures of Matt in Holland or: Mr. Holland's Opus

My friend from high school is in The Netherlands, The Hague specifically, for an internship with the UN at the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY).

These are his crazy adventures (with pictures!).

*Not that many people will be interested in this one, it's more for me to have a place to put the link to his blog. Yea, a bookmark would probably be more practical, but then, what the hell would I put on here? Think man, think!

Score!

Last year's Coache's Polo shirt for 15 bucks. Got one in Maroon and one in White.
Thanks to the Nike Outlet in Allen.'
Maybe now I can retire my 2003 version....may it rest in piece.

Leaked Dark Knight Stills

Go Here.

Some of those you've seen, some are new. May be considered spoilers. I may upload a few of them when I get a chance. I'm heading out for the weekend.

Peace

360 Console Watch....Day 2

Day 2 of Microsoft having my console. (or Day 3 if you believe UPS, who had a signature for it on the 15th).

As of today, the status still reads:

Device: Xbox360 Hardware
Serial Number: 610970554806
Warranty Status: Out of Warranty
Repair Status: Device Received at Service Center

Looks like I won't be having it to play Bioshock. Shame.

Live at Radio City

This one came as a surprise to me as I haven't really heard anything about it until a few days before it's release. It's another Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds cd, which I guess is a follow up to the Live at Luther College cd they made, which happens to be one of my all time favorites (seriously, it's the top 5 for sure, and probably in the top 3).

While I'm sad to see one of my all time favorite songs on their (Satellite), but it looks like alot of the classics, including Crash, are on there and it seems that there are plenty of newer DMB songs as well. I was, however, hoping to see a "All Along the Watchtower" version with just Dave and Tim, as the DMB cover is probably my favorite (yes, it edges out Jimi's...)

Looking forward to giving this a listen as soon as I can clear out a few more Podcasts.

Dear Microsoft

get off your lazy ass and do something with my console. I know you've got it. Mitch Jones signed for it.

Your service.xbox.com site still hasn't been updated, and I don't feel like waiting on hold for 15 minutes just to talk to somebody with such a heavy Indian accent, that I can barely understand them.

I swear I'm this close (*holds up fingers like an inch apart...just so we're clear) to going to get a PS3 for $350.

I'm soo glad this show's coming back soon.

Go, UPS, Go!

So I barely make it to the store to drop of the console last night (I actually had plenty of time as the store closed at 7 and the website said 6:30). I get home and it's already on it's way to Fort Worth.

I wake up this morning, get to work and check the UPS site, and it's out for delivery to Microsoft of the factory or wherever they're taking it. Damn that was fast. I may actually have a chance at getting it back by next Tuesday's Bioshock Day!

Plan is to get home early enough to get the package out of the Apartment leasing office, box up the console and take it to a UPS station tonight. I'm on a race to get the console back before Bioshock drops next Tuesday. Sadly, it's a race I don't think I'll win.

Another One Bites the Dust....

EFFFF!

Turned on the console today to try out Jet Set Radio Future that I bought off of before I left for Houston. I also wanted to go ahead and leave feedback on the guy before it was too late.

It froze on the boot up screen. Turned the system off, then back on. Thought to my self, as I walked back to the kitchen, "Damn I hope the thing doesn't break on me". Turn back to look, and I see the 3 Red lights. Red Ring of Death.

Console # 2 (yes, my second) is dead.

Called Xbox Support imediately after, and after being routed to Microsoft India, I get them to send me the coffin. This should be fun to track.

Aggie War Hymn (Guitar Hero)

This may be reason enough to go get a PS2. There seems to be a pretty big mod scene for Guitar Hero on the PS2.

Gangstas! What's up guys.

McLovin, that sounds like a sexy hamburger

I can't decide which quote I like more, the one in the title, or the one directly above. Hilarious.

OK, this is probably the last movie I really want to see this summer (I never saw the previous Bourne's, so that rules out the last one until I see them) and it looks to be hilarious. Michael Cerra is a comedic genius, and you should know that from watching Arrested Development.

Now check out this clip...and it's probably NSFW.

I was dying laughing when I first saw that.

Funnier Gif

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

or

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Funny thing. I have a voice that screams this in my head, in either a little kid voice or an Asian voice (depending on which one I'm looking at) each time the kid does it. It's like a bad Aggie joke where you could keep me busy for hours (ok, days really) just buy putting these in front of me.

As funny at the Asian one is, the little black kid is still my favorite. Probably because of the little black kid voice that goes off on my head.

The Better Line...

Messenger: A thousand nations of the Persian empire descend upon you. Our arrows
will blot out the sun!
Stelios: Then we will fight in the shade.

or

Messenger: Who does this woman think she is that she can speak among men?
Queen Gorgo: Because only Spartan women give birth to real men.

Probably my two of my favorite lines from this awesome movie.

SPARTANS!

TONIGHT WE DINE IN HELL!

I've got to say that the delivery time for Amazon was pretty sweet. I ordered it late last Saturday and I got it today, all with the free shipping option. Super Sweet!

The Dark Knight

New Teaser is out....and a new picture has leaked off of Why So Serious

Fah-king Sah-weet!

Here's the link to the trailers.

Medium

Best

Wait for the Joker's laugh near the end. Damn that's gonna be good.

I Can't Decide

Which picture I like better.
This one has The Zone in the background.

Same, shot, but this time, you can see the 12th Man TV in the background, and the screen is showing the same thing, so you have that cool effect where you keep seeing the same image, like when you can look into infinity when you hold up two mirrors facing each other.

Personally, I think I like the first picture better, although, when I first took them, they one with the replay board was my favorite.

EA Sports World Photos

EA Sports World Videos

That should take you to the website, where you can view the other photos and videos I've uploaded. This is EA's new feature for the year, and I think it's great. I just wish I could upload more photos and videos than they currently allow. Halo 3 will have this same feature, which will be great cause we have some really fun matches. They're even better if you can hear us talk about shit during the match.

Here's another one that I took, that I just think is cool as hell.

Go Jerrod Johnson.

What's Funnier?

(besides the title)

The model falling, or the anchors laughing?

Dear Recruiters

You know how I know you're slimey? When you leave a message, you don't tell me who you're with or what it's for. You know who else does shit like that? The people trying to sell you a satellite system or people trying to sell you a credit card. Those fucking people who have a prerecorded message piss me the fuck off. I can't imagine who would even do business with you.

Also, don't act like you're my friend when I've never met you. You're pathetic. I'm not your fucking "buddy". I've hung up on you before. Take a hint, dooshbag.

Wee Block

Another diaper change, another shower? You need a Wee Block! Just cover baby before diapering, and let the soft, absorbent dome catch your little guy's geysers. 100% cotton, machine wash. (Buy two, so you're never caught without.). Imported. Colors may vary. Due to health reasons, we are unable to accept returns on any opened packages.
Have you ever heard of this? I just saw it (No, I'm not actively looking for baby stuff....well maybe I should If what I hear about my brother is true...)
Still, I think this is hilarious...but then again, I still laugh when the ketchup (catsup?) bottle makes a fart noise.

You know what else, I think Dave Chappelle would be sad to learn that it wasn't digital.

My "Pile of Shame

is really getting pathetic now. I still haven't gotten around to watching Children of Men or the Departed. I don't even know how long I've had them sitting there. It's only going to get worse now that NCAA 2008 came out and next week, Weeds Season 2 comes out, which I'm expecting to be most excellent (wow where did that come from?) based on what I saw of Season 1. Maybe I should try and watch them tonight? I also have Fantastic Four dvr'd (dvr'ed?) to watch, which may be one of the stupider (It's early and I'm at work on a Saturday, sue me) things I've done considering everything I've heard about it. Still, my expectations are soo low for it, that I may end up enjoying it.

Oh, and I'm thinking of adding a seperate section for what I'm currently playing....kinda like "My OTHER Pile of Shame". Or I could just add it to the currenty one. I dunno.

Finished!

Spent the rest of the day yesterday, from the time I got home to about 2 in the morning reading. (I spent Wednesday at work (in my free time mind you) reading 1-10, then Thursday at work (again free time) reading the next bit that was released 11-21 (although I only made it to 18 before I went home.) By the time I got home, the whole thing had been transcribed to PDF, so I stayed up late trying to finish. Couldn't do it. I was left with about 3 chapters, including the epilogue, to finish, so I had to fit that in between some work. But now it's done. Boy what a ride. Although, now that I'm done, I'm a little sad. The adventures of Harry, Ron and Hermione are over. There are still the movies, which are good, but just not as good as the books (although that's pretty common).

The book itself was great and alot of fun to read. It was long, but there was a lot of ground to cover. The action starts almost immediately. There's a few downspots in the book, but they don't last very long. Congrats (and Thanks!) to Rowling, who created a pretty special, intricate world and is probably swiming in money like Scrooge McDuck.

Now that I'm done, I'm relieved. It's safe to go on to the interweb again. People, who have no interest in the book, are being assholes trying to ruin this for everybody else. It's gotten pretty bad too. I was browsing some Simpson YouTube videos (trying to find the one where Burns goes..."Ketchup....Catsup....) and some ass hole spoils the book listing who dies and plot summaries. Lucky for me, I finished reading the pdf this morning, but still what a douche. Oh, and if you're planning to ride by a Barnes and Noble and scream out spoilers, you deserve to be kicked in the junk. There's a special spot in hell reserved for you. You know who I'm talking about too.

I'll be picking up the book (the real thing) on the way to work Saturday (ugh!) and reading it again, slower this time trying to pick up more details (and checking to see if the PDF that I read was the real thing). It will also give me a chance to look through the other six books for references, names, etc.

Now I need another series of books to read through. Any suggestions?

To the group that calls themselves "Don't Stop Believing", thanks for your work. Reading the PDF was soo much easier than trying to read those jpgs. I couldn't put it down. Thanks to those that hosted, seeded and transcribed it. You've helped save people from getting the book spoiled.

Through the 1st 10 Chapters....

and I'm f'in hooked. There's alot of ground to cover and so far, Rowling hasn't disappointed. I think my mouth was open the entire 5th chapter. If this is fake, it's an amazing fake and I'll have the pleasure of reading the book with fresh eyes on Saturday. If not, then I'll happily read it again. Somehow, I was actually pretty productive at work today, which is amazing as I seemed to have been glued to my computer most of the day.

Sadly, it seems that the "haxors" have let me down. I expected the rest of the book to be transfered to txt/pdf by the time I got home, because I can't read those jpgs. Actually, I can read some of it fine, but you can't make out all the words, especially near the spine. It's painful on the eyes. Do you want to read 784 pages of this?

Spoil this for me, and I promise I'll kill you, bring you back to life, just so I can kill you again.
Hook me up with the remaining book, and I'll be your best friend for ever (Four-EV-VOR! FOUR-EV-VOR! FOUR-EV-VOR!)

Happy NCAA Day!

In honor of that, I post this,

Get a good look, cause come this fall, you'll only see the name on the back of his jersey.

Now, to go buy the game at lunch, or after work....that is the real question. Well that, and what am I having for lunch. Tommy like wingies...

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

Well, at least that's what the poster called it. I swear I didn't hear the words "Order of the Phoenix" uddered (heheheh) more than a couple of times the entire movie. I enjoyed the movie. It was pretty good, but I could see where a non reader would be a bit lost and confused.

Looney Lovegood stole the movie. She was fantastic, just as I pictured her in the book. Funny, but Evanna Lynch actually talks like that in real life.

Imelda Staunton did a fantastic job as Ms. Umbridge. I hated her just as much as I did in the book. I didn't think she was, however, not very "toadlike".

I was disappointed with the twins' exit from school. That could of been much better, and one of the parts of the book I was anxious to see on screen.
I was also a bit sad not to see Rita Skeeter (Aww, skeet skeet skeet) in this movie. She's another great character that you love to hate.
I really wish there's a Lord of the Rings type "Extended Edition" with these movies. There's so many great parts in the book that have to be cut in the movies that I would of loved to see.

This is funny...

but then again, I love Pulp Fiction and video games.

HI MOM!

Help Pick My Cover...

...cause you know, your opinion matters to me...

My favorite so far.

Stephen F'in McGee doin his thing.

This one's pretty busy. Not sure who the hottie is, but she could work.

This one's great because of the RWB out

Maybe I should go with some 'Telocity and use Money Bennet.

Another one of Stephen F'in McGee, this time with Stack at the bottom.

Many thanks to the TexAgers I stole these from. You've been great.

Battlestar Galactica: Razor - Trailer / Preview

A trailer to the "Pegasus Miniseries" that is coming this November, before Season 4 starts.

Yes you should care. Like Dwight says, if you don't watch Battlestar, you're an idiot.

Transformers

Bumblebee (top) and Barricade. Both great looking cars. The new Camaro is fucking sexy. Optimus (I like the long nose truck better)New Hotness (DO YOU SEE WHAT I DID THERE?!?!)

Bumblebee transformed.

Ironhide Hotness (Fox) and the reason Indiana Jones 4 is already getting positive buzz (Shia Labeouf)

Megatron

More Megan Fox (I just can't get enough of this chick)
This one rocked sooo much. From the action, to the women, to the robots to the computer animation. It just kicked all kinds of ass. It's probably the best movie I've seen all summer (and apparently, I've seen a lot).

One small complaint, is that it was hard to tell alot of the transformers (some, not all) apart when they were in robot form. They need to do a better job of this in the sequels (yea, you know they're making more than just one more).
GO SEE THIS MOVIE

Ok, one more gratuitous Megan Fox pic.

One more huh? "Damn, give a @#$$* a rope, want to be a cowboy, Gus."

Movies!

The Island

Not one of Michael Bay's best. I could see why it was considered a flop. Thought the story was kinda lame. Funny too, cause I usually enjoy his movies. This one's typical Michael Bay, as it's got his trademark 'splosions. Oh, and I like Ewan McGregor and Scarlet Johansson (boy do I "like" her or "like like" her?), but this one just didn't work for me.

The Gaurdian

This has to be the longest movie in history, and if it wasn't, it felt like it. Very slow and not all that great. Kevin Costner needs to stick to baseball movies. By the way, I don't hate Kutcher, but I did wish he would drown in this movie. Appropriate picture, don't you think?

Transformers

This one get's it's own post. It rocked that much.

Die Hard 4

This one was good as well. Funny thing is, I watched this one after I had watched Transformers. Without giving too much away, at the end, I was thinking to myself, "Man a Transformers with John McClane would be awesome. When you get the the freeway part, you'll see what I mean.

I wouldn't mind seeing another Die Hard movie made, I just don't know if I need to see it made soo soon. It's a bit of pickle really, (Some people like their cucumbers pickled.) Willis is getting old, and I don't really want to see anybody else take over this role. Still, I don't want to see a sequel next year, either.

Oh and I think Josh Duhamel and Timothy Olyphant were seperated at birth.

Quick Thoughts

I'm this close to just calling it a day due to lack of interest. Actually, I was about to do this an hour ago. Today sucks. I wanna go lay down.

Apparently, I'm still stuck on the Sopranos Finale. Today at Potbelly's, they (actually it was one lonely white guy...who was playing the last time we went there) were playing the acoustic version of "Don't Stop" when I had another thought on the finale. Ugh. Fuck you David Chase. I thought Bob Harris's blog put that to bed for me.

Speaking of Potbelly's...it's not as good as everybody makes it out to be. Seriously. I don't get all the love people have for it. It's 11:30 and there's a line to the fucking door already. Can you say overrated? I know I can. And what the fuck is up with that tiny ass drink? I've got to get up 3 times for refils before I finish my sandwich. That oatmeal choclate chip cookie is pretty good though. You do get credit there.

Fuck you stomach for acting all upset on me. You're pissing me off.

It's Cloudy Today...

...(breaking news, I know) so that means I shouldn't be wearing sunglasses on the drive home today.

But that would mean I don't get to sport my new shades.. and you know that's not going to happen.

Hit me you can't hurt me.....
