Finished

Took me about a week, but it's done. Finished late last night...er...early this morning. I forget what the time was.

It's a great book and a hilarious read. The antics are ridiculous.

Some impressions:

I now know where the "Troy Aikman is Gay" rumors started.

I didn't realize that Jimmy really didn't want Emmit, wasn't sold on Troy and was close to cutting Irvin.

They actually give the address of the infamous "White House".

Definitely recommended read.

Found it.

The next book I've got to buy.

Some highlights:

1. Irvin was THE hardest working member and soul of the 90s Cowboys. He also was an alduterer, drug abuser, etc. But no matter what, he showed up early for practice and always delivered during games. His sexploitations are legendary.

2. Jones and Johnson were never really that close. This surprised me somewhat.

3. Charles Haley is/was psychotic.

4. Kenny Gant would be a cool person to hang out with.

5. Kevin Smith was a trash-talker, and should actually be given credit for "The Shark" dance.

6. Emmitt was more of a D-bag than most people realize.

7. Charles Haley is PSYCHOTIC.

Read this for some more exerts and snippets.

Best Monday morning in 9 months

Why?

Cause it's Game Week! Offseason is over. College Football is back!

I was so pumped that this morning when I was getting dressed, I was already debating with A&M Polo I would wear (see this post: Score!). It's a home game, so I'm going with Maroon. Now it's between the last years model, a.k.a. "new" or the old faithful one that has a 1-7 (I think) record. Yea, so right now I'm leaning towards the new (to me) polo and just retiring the old one.

Here's a little tsip humor to help get the smack talking started.

1. What do you call a drug ring in Austin ?
A huddle
2. Four UT Longhorns in a car, who's driving?
The police.
3. The UT Longhorns have adopted a new "Honor System".
Yes your Honor, No your Honor.
4. The UT Longhorns knew they had to do something for their defense, so they hired a new defensive coordinator:
F. Lee Bailey.
5. How do the UT Longhorns spend their first week at fall practice?
Studying their Miranda Rights.
6. What do you say to a Longhorn in a suit?
Will the defendant please rise?
7. If you see Longhorn football player on a bike, why don't you swerve to hit him?
It might be your bike!
8. The Longhorns employ scouts.
But to look out for cops, not to scout high school kids.
9. I heard a rumor that the Texas Department of Corrections plans build a new prison in Austin , Texas in order to allow Longhorns to walk to school.
10. What do you call it, when a Longhorn goes on vacation?
Time off for good behavior.
11. Why couldn't the Longhorn get into a huddle on the football field?
It's a parole violation to associate with known felons.
12. Obviously Coach Mack Brown is not paying his players if they have to resort to robbing people.
13. Book 'em, Horns!

Good luck to Montana State...you're gonna need it.

Happy NCAA Day!

In honor of that, I post this,

Get a good look, cause come this fall, you'll only see the name on the back of his jersey.
Lane and Goodson Highlights

Now, to go buy the game at lunch, or after work....that is the real question. Well that, and what am I having for lunch. Tommy like wingies...

My favorite so far.

Stephen F'in McGee doin his thing.

This one's pretty busy. Not sure who the hottie is, but she could work.

This one's great because of the RWB out

Maybe I should go with some 'Telocity and use Money Bennet.

Another one of Stephen F'in McGee, this time with Stack at the bottom.

Many thanks to the TexAgers I stole these from. You've been great.

Why HDTV is great.

Let's do a little exercise regarding the greatness that is HDTV.
From Monday's Rosebowl game.

Is she wearing underwear?

Apparently so!

Gawd I love USC Song Girls.

Fran, Aggies need to stop teasing and start pleasing

From the article by Richard Oliver at the San Antonio Express

It's time for Dennis Franchione to fulfill his advertised promise.
After nearly four years of laying a foundation now sprawling enough to accommodate four Kyle Fields, it's time for the Texas A&M football coach to build something special on more than paper.

Like on the scoreboard, for instance.

Franchione needs to produce a cornerstone victory.

Now.

If he can't win this week in Austin, falling to 2-11 in November, 4-17 against Top 25 teams, 1-14 against Oklahoma, Nebraska, Texas Tech and archrival Texas, it will be time to work up another blueprint for the future.

Simply, because this high-priced architect is running out of time.

Franchione, hired at great cost to rebuild respect, comes into this week's annual showdown spearheading an Aggies program that under his watch is no longer viewed as a Thanksgiving main course for the ascendant Longhorns.

Instead, A&M has become dessert.

It's a bitter development for a fan base feeling whipped around these days like debris on Highway 6. The football operation has become more teasing than pleasing, sending hopes rising and falling in maddening arcs.

Franchione felt the impact of it over the past two weeks as the Aggies suffered excruciating one-point losses to Oklahoma and Nebraska, leaving question marks planted in the aftermath like cleat marks all over the turf. Then, the harsh reviews of his sideline management hit harder and faster than any day-after headline.

The partisan crowds of 80,000 plus, an ocean of maroon surrounding him, poured down waves of boos.

The significance of that? Aggies don't boo Aggies, a tradition almost as dear as Reveille and The Dixie Chicken.

Even in the worst days of Gene Stallings, Tom Wilson and even Hank Foldberg, any jeer that tumbled from the stands was usually shushed by an A&M populace that embraced a belief of loyalty to the school above all else.

Today, however, the 12th Man, whether on site at Kyle or on edge from afar, is demanding more, and with good reason.

This month has offered more painful doses of close but no cigar, and doubtless even the big cigars in the school's sparkling suites felt the discontent rattling the panes, if not their guts.

The most recent setback, a wrenching 28-27 loss to the Cornhuskers, closed with an infuriating five-minute span that included a blocked field goal, an inability to run out the final 2:30 on the clock and the surrender of a decisive 11-play, 75-yard drive helped along by a brainless penalty.

A week after Franchione's spiritless play-calling in the clutch against Oklahoma, Aggieland endured a game plan that had the offense, with time bleeding away, send freshman Michael Goodson on a sweep that sent him out of bounds, stopping the clock.

Looking on was the Aggies' bull of a running back, Jorvorskie Lane, a proven playmaker relegated to only six carries for 13 yards. A wide-body force not so long ago, he's been mysteriously downsized so quickly these days that it's fair to wonder who will next call his number, Les Koenning or Jenny Craig.

Whatever the reason, the last time Nebraska coach Bill Callahan received a gift like that, Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis was handing him a handsome check to leave the West Coast.

Moments later, Callahan and Co. left Kyle Field with an unlikely Big 12 North championship.

Franchione, in what had been projected as a defining season, was left with a defining message ringing in his ears.

If A&M wanted to invest more than $2 million a year for moral victories, it might do better to expand the campus' All-Faith Chapel.

That, unless something unexpected happens this week in Austin, would at least be something to build on.

Sums it up perfectly. I know Byrne is on a 6 year plan, but this is getting rediculous, especially with the outrageous ticket prices.

State of Aggie Football

This was stolen from Texags, and I'm mainly putting it here for my use. Not really informative unless you are an Aggie or a fan.
********************************************************************************

*This is a re-post of a thread I posted earlier this afternoon on the Aggies Only board*

What I've done is go back through the years 1999-2002. These are the years that show what direction the program was taking when Fran got here. I also looked at recruiting during those years.

From 1999 through 2002, we went 29-19. That’s a 60% winning percentage. Not great, but not terrible. Sometime people look at this and think we weren’t so bad off. So I went deeper than that. I looked at the teams that were beaten during those years, whether we actually got any quality wins, and how we performed in the losses.

1999:
Record: 8-4. Not a bad record, but not what everyone had hoped for after the championship.
We beat 3 teams that had winning records - La Tech, Southern Miss, and t.u. Some might consider La Tech and So Miss to be inferior competition, which is true, although they did have pretty good teams at the time. Some might also put an asterisk beside tu, because that was the bonfire game. Take out those three teams, and the other 5 teams we beat combined for 17 wins. The best record of any of those other 5 was 5-6. The 8 teams we beat went a combined 43-50 (again, 26 of those wins were by 3 teams). The 4 teams we lost to were a combined 35-14. In our losses we were outscored 133-25. We lost to ou 51-6, nebraska 37-0, and Penn St. 24-0. We were never even in the game with the three best teams on the schedule. Never even had a chance. The only big win was over texas.
The running game totaled under 100 yards 3 times that season. One time we rushed for 2 yards in a game on 37 carries. We averaged 3.4 yds/rush over the season. We averaged 145 yds/game, and had 19 rushing TDs.
Record vs. opponents with winning record: 3-4
An 8-4 record masked some problems.

2000:
Record: 7-5. Another step down. We did beat 4 teams with winning records - UTEP, TTU, ISU, KSU. Out of those teams, one was a 7-6 TTU team, and the other was an 8-4 UTEP team. The 7 teams we beat went a combined 41-43. The 5 teams we lost to exceeded the win total of the 7 we beat by going 42-23. Big loss: 26-19 over a CU team that finished 3-8. The big wins were TTU, and they were an average team, and a win over a good KSU team that went 11-3. In retrospect, the only win which can truly be considered big was KSU. Big losses to ND (by 2 TD), a poor CU team, and texas.
4 times that season we had rushing totals less than 100 yards. One other game the total was 103. Over the course of the season we averaged 3.8 yds/rush. The longest run that year was 38 yards (how many has Goodson had over 38? And McGee for that matter?). We averaged 146 yds/game, and had 26 rushing TDs.
Record vs. opponents with winning record: 3-5

2001:
Record: 8-4. Seemingly a step back in the right direction. However, looking back, there was probably never a clearer instance of a team being much worse than its record indicated. The problem was, we beat only 2 teams with winning records, and one of those was I-AA McNeese State (8-4). They had the best record of all the teams we beat, followed by Iowa State at 7-5. The 8 teams we beat went a combined 43-49, while the 4 teams that beat us nearly equaled that same number of wins by going 39-12. There were no big wins. What seemed like big wins at the time were, in retrospect, not. Those would be a win over a Notre Dame team at Kyle Field that finished the season 5-6, and a win over a KSU team that finished the season 6-6. We were outscored in our 4 losses 95-38, which comes to about 2 TD losses for each game.
Record vs. opponents with winning record: 2-4
4 times we failed to rush for over 100 yards. We averaged 3.2 yds/carry for the season. We averaged 114/game, and had 14 rushing TDs.
Signs of trouble: close with McNeese (losing 16-10 at halftime, and losing 24-10 in the third quarter), Wyoming score 28-20 (was 21-20 until we scored with 2:35 left in the game), Baylor score 16-10, with baylor throwing into the endzone at the end of the game trying for the win.

2002:
Record: 6-6. Had we been paying attention, the record should have surprised no one. Our descent, coupled with ou, tu, and ttu getting better should have warned us. Instead, it was like a punch in the stomach. We beat 2 teams with winning records - Pitt and ou. I’m not trying to take anything away from the ou win, but the reality is a freshman came in and took over the game. We play that thing 10 times, and we’ll lose at least 8 of them. The teams we beat went a combined 33-42. Excluding ou, those teams went 21-40. The best record of the other 4 wins was a 4-8 La Tech team. The teams that beat us went 50-30. Big losses: a 7-7 nebraska team, and a 5-7 missouri team.
Record vs. opponents with winning record: 2-5.
We averaged 3.4 yards/rush over the season, 118 yds/game, and had 18 rushing TDs. Longest rush of the season was 35 yards.
In all honesty, we should have been no better than 5-7 this year.

We played 48 games, and had 3 big wins: tu in ‘99, KSU in 2000, and ou in ‘02. From ‘99 to ‘02, we were 1-3 against tu, ttu, and ou, or a combined 3-9.
Our inability to run the ball was staggering.
This shows the rushing comparisons for the last several years:

games w/ games
Year avg/rush avg/game TDs over 200yds w/ less
than 100
1999 3.4 145 19 3 3
2000 3.8 146 26 2 4
2001 3.2 114 14 0 4
2002 3.4 118 18 1 5
2003 4.4 177 22 4 1
2004 4.6 167 24 2 2
2005 5.7 234 24 8 1
2006 5.1 207 30 6 0

Now a quick look at building the team: recruiting.
I again started with ‘99, because if they had redshirted, those players would have been redshirt seniors Fran’s first year.

1999
The best players were gone after 2002. Sammy Davis, Ty Warren, Terrence Kiel ,Taylor Whitley.
14 of the recruits were non-contributors, and you could make it 15 because Jared Morris got hurt.
DL - Shannon Mitchell, Brian West
LB - Jason LeDoux, Damien West, Toron Wooldridge
DB - Ellison Collins, Everett Smith, Reggie Waddell
QB - Colby Freeman
RB - Richard Whitaker, Maurice Harris, Oschlor Fleming
OL- James Milkavich, John Kirk, Britt Lively
TE - Teshumbrae Brown, Fred Spiller

That’s 17 of our signees that never contributed as 5th year seniors. Only 8 even made to their 5th year, and those 8 weren’t contributors. Another, Jared Morris, didn’t really because he got hurt.

2000
21 signees. 7 never even earned a letter. 5th year seniors were Keith Joseph, Jonte Buhl, Marcus Jasmin, Kevin Mangum (non-contributor), and Keelan Jackson (injured),
FB - Mathus Gill
TE - Joey “I wish I could sign 20" Perot
DB - Adam Black, Dawon Gentry, Mike Pinesette, Kevin Mangum,
LB - LeBrandon Sheppard, Brian Thompson, Ricky Cardoza
DL - Eddie Brown
WR - Eric Crutchfield
K - Chris Sims

We netted zero linebackers, 1 DL, and 1 DB out of this class. 12 of the 21 were non-contributors. Total letters earned by this class - 38. By comparison, texas and tceh’s classes this year earned each earned 55 letters.

2001
23 signees. 10 were non-contributors. 7 never lettered.
WR- John Roberson
OL - Quinten Holman, Cole Smith

DL - Donny Stringer, Lawrence Hooper, Thomas Carriger (moved to TE)
LB - John Boutte, Brandon Johnson, Randall Webb
DB - Jarvis Mays

We got nothing from the DL class, because Stringer and Hooper never contributed, and Carriger was moved. Nothing from the LB class because Boutte and Johnson never contributed, and Webb was kicked off the team.

2002
23 signees. 8 non-contributors.
WR - Nick Rhodes
TE - Patrick Fleming
OL - Brandon Flanagan
DL - Dennis Ellis, Brandon Fails, Ju Parks, Brian Patrick
LB - Kelvin “watch out for the” Flood, Andy Matakis

So 35 of about 90 players over the course of those 4 recruiting classes either never made it to campus, never played, or played so little that their contribution is minimal. More than 1/3 of players never helped the team at all. 35 PLAYERS IS CLOSE TO THE EQUIVALENT OF 2 RECRUITING CLASSES THAT WE GOT NOTHING FROM.

Dave Campbell’s 5 year rank of the recruiting classes has A&M’s class as follows:
1999: #5 in the state, behind texas, ttu, tcu, and unt.
2000: #6 in the state, behind the same 5 plus rice
2001: #5 in the state, behind the same 5 as 1999.

Our classes were typically highly ranked when we got them, but then fell way short once they were evaluated on number of letters earned, number of starting seasons, number of all conference players, number of all-americans, etc.

This team was on a downward trend since 1998. Wins were coming against weak competition. Decent records masked big problems. Then, ou, tu, and ttu all hired new coaches, who began upgrading their teams. That’s not to mention some new coaches in the north division who began upgrading some truly bad teams. So distance was quickly put between where we were, and we wanted to be. It was like 2 cars pulling away from each other at 60 mph. It might not have been so bad if just the other teams were improving, but we were going to other way.

Fran stepped into a bad team in 2003. A team that the prior year had gone 6-6, even with 3 players taken in the first 2 rounds of the NFL draft. He was left extremely short on talent. The 4-8 season of 2003 was coming no matter who the coach was.

People like to say we weren't a bad team, we hadn't had a losing season in however many years. But the fact is, this team was in bad shape. It was clear on the field when you look past records, and the recruiting was horrendous.
We had a weak team with no playmakers.

2006 Texas A&M-Baylor football game highlights from Aggiesports.com

Video highlights for the 2006 Baylor game from Aggiesports.com. Texas A&M won the game 31-21 in Waco.
Check out the speed of Mike Goodson. Damn that boy is fast. Earlier in the year, I told you he's getting close to breaking one. There it is. He puts the nail in the Baylor Coffin. Telocity, or Money Bennett, or whatever you want to call him, had a breakout game. He also had a long run for a touchdown after a short catch.

Here's a little something I shamelessly stole from TexAgs Rivalries forum poster txsportsagent.

I have a message for our beloved baptists in Waco. I would appreciate it if someone who goes to their site would link up and send them a message for me.

I want to tell them that I admire them. I admire the fact that they are better fans than we are. I admire them because they've been through so much these past years.

Chuck Reedy, Dave Roberts, Kevin Steele and now Guy Morriss.

Why can't we get better coaches here, they ask? Why can't we get better recruits here? We pray, we pay, we cheer, we wear green, we travel back to Waco now and then, we fly our little flags with our little foam fingers. We care. We want to win.

I want them to read this while the lingering defeat still stings in their loins. I have the answer to these questions. You can read my response and then go have a better life with the satisfaction of having this knowledge.

The reason you can't have better coaches and better recruits is simple.

You're Baylor.

You're not the Aggies or the Whorns. You're not even close. You can't even compete with Tard. TCU? Forget it. I know you're all passionate.

But you're Baylor.

I know you think I'm just running smack, but really I'm not.

You're Baylor.

Say it.

I'm Baylor.

I'm Baylor.

You're getting it.

I'm Baylor. I beat A&M one year out of 20+. Not much better against the other Texas schools. I'm not going to get any better. Really. I'm not. I'm Baylor.

I'm that kid that nobody picked to be on their team. But at that Fall Festival that year, I paid my $10 and dunked the captain of the football team in that dunking booth when he laughed at me for throwing like a girl. And it felt good.

I'm Baylor.

I got voted Most Likely to Succeed from the brass section of the band, and I made them proud by being accepted into a school lower ranked than the other Texas schools. But I paid more than the other kids did.

I'm Baylor.

I went to school in the worst city in this great state. They had to put a school here because otherwise, we'd all have to be Temple College fans.

I'm Baylor.

Notice how I didn't mention Koresh or people who died in your city. You shouldn't mention people who died in my bonfire. Ever again. Because these people are our brothers and sisters, and our pain for them is real.

But you won't do that anymore because now you know who you are.

You're not getting any better.

You'll never be worth mentioning on ESPN except when you take your annual asskicking by your fellow Texas schools you piggybacked into this great conference (our most sincere apologies to TCU).

You're Baylor.

And you'll be watching your daddies during the bowl season.

Decorate your trees and trim them with the green and gold. Spend Christmas with nighttime dreams of candy canes, Jolly St. Nick and an upset at Kyle or against Texas next year.

And then wake up. Take a whizz. Comb your hair. Kiss your kids.

And then remember what I told you.

You're Baylor.

Listening to A&M Games on the Radio = NOT FUN

As commented by Dave South:

  • "There's the snap thie kick is up...........AND IT'S BLOCKED!!!!! AGGIES WIN!!!!!"

Above, Red Bryant blocks the extra point in overtime to give the Aggies the win, 34-33 in OT.

Here's a highlight reel of the game. (I'll embed the link from Yout Tube later). See the clip and note the 1 handed catch by the JTRAIN. That's a huge play on 4th and 19, in the 4th quarter, with less than 3 minutes left. We don't get that 1st down, the game is essentially over.

Here's a few more You Tube videos:

The Legion of Doom CEO, Martellus Bennett scores a TD, his first of the year.

JTRAIN breaking through for 1 TD.

Here's the game tying touchdown, with :03 left in the game.

Now I know I'm not the only person complaining about Dave South, our play by play announcer for all Texas A&M games. The man, while his suppored is appreciated, has to go. Seriously. He has no idea what's going on. Here are some common quotes heard during his broadcast.

  • "INT by Gorrer.....touchback will give the Aggies the ball at the 30." (The 30?!?!?)
  • "McGee play action, Goodson caught for a 4 yard loss." (I guess everytime it's a option where we don't give it to the dive man, it's a playaction?)
  • "Aggies snap the ball at the 15, line of scrimmage is the 10."
  • "and he's a half yard short of 2nd down."
  • "He's at the 50..45..40..35..30.25..20.15..10..5..Touchback..Touchdown."

That's just a sample of the goodness that is Dave South. I swear I had a heart attack each time we would kick an extra point.

  • "Here's the snap. The hold. The kick is up, and it is ...(wait for it)...(keep waiting for it)....(seriously, keep waiting)...... good."

There is no need to drag it out like that. None. Check out Texags for the past few days, and you'll see I'm not alone. We all love his enthusiasm for the Ags, but Good Lord, help us out some will ya?

Anyway, Baylor is up this week, and I'm really going to try and make the this game. It seems Baylor is taking it's cue from the tcehtards in terms of class. This is one of the posts from Baylorfans. Un-be-fucking-lievable:

stupid.....their backs are probably a little better than our backs (and not by
much) but to say they are better than cornish. there's a reason a&m is full
of dumbasses. or maybe there is no reason.

I don't think that school realizes how much people actually hate them. I mean, if i was in the military and we were in Iraq or somewhere, I'd probably open up friendly fire on an aggie in the trenches, because i'm sure he'd be doing something stupid to deserve being shot.

God I hope we come out and just run all overthem. I've never really hated Baylor, hell I barely give them a second thought. Shit like that post, does piss me off.

The FIU vs Miami Brawl

As briefly mentioned in yesterday's post, here's the video of the brawl.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1JWeE9KqZjQ
(I'll embed the video when I get home. For some reason I can't copy the embed link in Explorer)
Edit: There we go

Lamar Thomas is a former Miami reciever and is currently a color analyst. When I say currently, I'm talking about at the time of the game. Based on his comments, starting about halfway through the video, he's a former color analyst. Pretty funny actually. He talks pretty big.

The bench-clearing brawl resulted in 31 suspensions between the two schools.

The result of the brawl?
  • Thomas is fired.
  • Coker is safe for now. (I personally expect changes at the end of the season)
  • 12 Miami players suspended for 1 game.
  • Sophomore safety Anthony Reddick (Miami) was suspended indefinitely (He's the one you see swinging his helmet)
  • The ACC and Miami (4-2) suspended Reddick, Carlos Armour, Chris Barney, James Bryant, Tyrone Byrd, DajLeon Farr, Ryan Hill, Bruce Johnson, Charlie Jones, Brandon Meriweather, Brian Monroe, Derrick Morse and Randy Phillips.
  • Chris Smith and Marshall McDuffie Jr., (FIU) dismissed, but remain on scholarship.
  • 16 FIU players placed on probation indefinetly.
  • Sun Belt Conference and FIU (0-7) suspended Michael Alls, Scott Bryant, Roland Clark, Michael Dominquez, John Ellis, Cory Fleming, Reginald Jones, Robert Mitchell, Quintin Newman, Luis Pena, Jarvis Penerton, Julian Reams, Lionell Singleton, Samuel Smith, Mannie Wellington and Chandler Williams.

Stephen F'in McGee, The JTRAIN, and Mike Goodies

I had to work on Saturday, so starting about 2:30, I stopped checking TexAgs and any other college football site in order to avoid being spoiled. I had the game on my DVR. From 2:30 to about 7, when I finally got home, I had to find other websites to spend the time. I almost screwed up once. I went to the website about 6, by habit, and luckily I moved on before reading anything on the site. I made it hope blissfully ignorant of any happenings.

Now this was a way to start the game. Well sort of. This play (2nd of the game) could of been a disaster, but the hustle play of Jordan Peterson (Freshman by the way) saved the day. It was a heads up play by him and I think this may be the play of the year. The kid will be a good one. Scratch that, he's going to be a great one. Mizzou scores on this, the game goes their way. As it is, I think this set the tempo for us.

This basically put the game away for us.

Obviously a photoshop (although he did complete a 12 yd pass to himself this game), but many Aggie faithful feel the same way. If we can eat the clock like we did this past weekend, and give them a healthy dose of the JTRAIN, we've got a good chance to win every single ball game. We could also just as easily lose every game. We were 26 seconds away from being 7-0. We're also about 2 minutes away from being 4-3. It can go either way just as easily, but now I feel pretty confident with #7 leading us. He's a gamer, and he's learning how to win. The future looks bright with reshirt sophomore McGee leading the way.

Tech got beat down by CU, which makes our loss to them even more frustrating. They've lost 2 in a row since their "Superbowl" win against us. Andrian Peterson is gone for the year with a broken collar bone. That gives us an even better chance against ou. The cubbiesput up 31 on the whorns, which begs the question: Is the tu defense that suspect, or is bu actually that good?

Oh, and I saw the highlights of the brawl between Miami and FIU. I think Coker has completely lost that team and he needs to suspend a whole lot of people on tha tteam. That was disgraceful.

F'in Crybaby

I've been pisse off when my team loses, but I haven't cried. Grow up little boy. Don't get emotionally invested in things you can't control.

Here's the announcers of the game making fun of him.

Even Sponge Bob Hates Texas

This is pretty funny.

Hey Patrick, what am I?

I dunno, stupid?

No, I'm Texas!

What's the difference?!?!

Bwahahahahah!

*As I disclaimer, I take this as another jab at the 'horns, not the actual state. I love the state I live in. Just a part of the Red River Shootout.

Uteri or Paperclips?

VS

Personally, I hope the Earth swallows both teams up. If I had to choose, I would go with the paperclips, mainly cause I think we can beat them at Kyle in November. That would put us going to Austin with 1 loss each to decide the South.

9 out of 12 times. 9 Out Of The Last 12 F'in Times.

That's A&M's record versus tceh. A&M has lost 9 out of the last 12 times. It's getting rediculous. This last time, victory was snatched away with 26 seconds left, the equivalent of a last second game winning shot in basketball. Actually, I think it's eerily similar to the 3 pointer that LSU hit in the NCAA Tournament to knock us out. This was a 40 yard bomb by Grahm Harrel to Robert Johnson was so improbable, you can run the same play 9 more times and not complete one of them. Seriously, this ball was perfectly placed, and an amazing catch by woods with our FRESHMAN (bolded for emphasis) cornerback Jordan Peterson all over the reciever. Seriously, it was about as best as he could of played the ball, short of turning and looking for it. I put no blame on Peterson, I still think he's got a bright future here.
I do put a little blame on Justin Warren, our SENIOR linebacker. According to our defensive coordinator, there was a max blitz on the play. If you watch this video you can see even the cornerback blitzes, but Warren just drops back into no man's land. If he blitzes, then I think we have a really good shot at either a sack, or a qb pressure, forcing him to throw early. Seriously, take a look at the video. You can see that the running back, Woods picked up the block on the cb, when the linebacker didn't show. What makes the loss even more frustrating is that we had 2 long time consuming drives to tie the game. That's basically the gameplan with a quick strike offense like tceh's. We chewed up the clock and got points. We even got the ball back and we ended up kicking a field goal to go up 27-24 with about 2 minutes left. Unfortunatley, that was too much time. There was also the slight euphoric "high" after Mark Dodge's interception. Sadly, the buzz was killed on the official review which overturned because the ball hit the ground before the catch.

The worst part of it is, that although I've started to become accustomed to losses lately, this loss pretty much ruined the rest of the college football games for me. I watched them, but this time it was with a certain numbness where I just couldn't get into them.

Now TexAgs is in overreaction mode, with people calling for the firing of our coach midseason. It's a pain to even go over there right now. Hopefully, it will clear up a little with a W at Kansas. Even that, according to some posters on the message board, will be hard to come by. Here's also a list that's been popping up alot lately in the "against" column of Coach Fran.

The following lists some of Fran's accomplishments in his four years as Head Coach at A&M.
  • 1. 20-20 overall record

All-Time 1-18 vs. teams from BCS conferences

Doesn't look good for him. Baring some major upsets (where we come out on top) in the later half of this season, specifically in November, this is looking like the end for the Fran era at A&M. The question is, who can we get to replace him?

My wishlist

  • Gene Chizik - I would love to get this guy, but I'm not sure we can. Great defensive mind.
  • Butch Davis - I hear he's inline for the Arkansas job if and when they fire Houston Nutt.
  • Steve Craigthorpe - He's coached at A&M during which we had our greatest passing offense. Also, he's doing great things at Tulsa. Is he ready for the big time?
  • Tommy Tubberville - I doubt we can get him, but when we fired RC, he was rumored to be in the mix for the job. Plus, Auburn had almost shown him the door. Now, I don't think we can get him, especially after the past few seasons he's had. He's a god there now. Who knows, money talks. Maybe he's still pissed at his employers.
  • Mike Price - He's turning around UTEP, but rumor has it he doesn't have much of a defense. I would be in favor of this guy.
  • Bo Pelini - another great defensive mind. I wouldn't be mad about getting this guy.
  • Randy Shannon is the DC for the 'canes. I would love to get him as well, but I think he's the heir apparent to Larry Cocker.
  • Petrino just got a big extension from Louisville, so I would think he's out.

What we really need is the Billy Gillespie's of the football world. Who is that and where can we find him?
