Editor's Note (Hey, that's Me!): This post would be alot better if I could just save the pictures from the slideshow and post them directly on the blog....but my bow staff skillz don't translate very well.

Funny Little Email
Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2008, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere. Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee.
For those of you who are 'thick skinned':
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!"
That made me laugh. Thought it might do the same to you. Nothing like some office humor, eh?
I also just realized that I need update the blog a bit. Seems Iv'e got about 25 posts sitting in "draft" form waiting to be published. Damn, I've got to pick a day and just update the damn thing. I've let it slide long enough. I'm sure my eager readers are as tired as seeing that Orbitz commercial on the front page as I am....you Liiiint Lickers.
Not really. I don't think I can get tired of that commercial.

Received the coffin on Thursday (surprise! it's waiting outside my door, not at the Managers Office)
Dropped it off at Fed Ex today before lunch. Guess it's time to give my PS3 some attention besides movies.

THE DARK KNIGHT poster... jokes on us! -- Ain't It Cool News: The best in movie, TV, DVD, and comic book news.
Not that I frequent AICN or anything (nor do I recommend doing such dastardly deeds), but this may be one of the coolest posters I've ever seen. It needs to be seen.

Apparently, I like to work
158 hours of vacation accrued.
88 sick hours accrued.
1 personal day.
Oh and by the way, I've already cashed in 1 week's worth of vacation time for an extra paycheck...cause I would of rather used the money.
What the hell should I do with all that? I'll see my Dad or Thanksgiving and my Mom over Christmas, so I'll use some extra days there, but I've got some extras to spare. Don't really want to go see them now....I don't like my family that much. Plus, they all have jobs and lives to live, so I'd probably just get in the way.
Need suggestions on what to do...

Swim at Your Own Risk...
Funny stuff. Apparently people are afraid of the water. Good site to see wicked awesome (wait, where am I?) pictures of shark bits and shit like that.
Found this site thanks to Kevin Smith's Smodcast # 10. Very funny story on that one.

When You Say Uncle Tom.....
I officially became an uncle. Should I feel excited about this, because I really don't. I'm feeling kind of ambivalent about all this. Is it wrong that I actually don't really care? (Partly cause the mom is a crazy bitch....) Maybe it takes a little bit to sink in? Maybe I have to actually see the child in person....
Funny thing is, I could of know yesterday at 5:51, if I wouldn't have left my phone on vibrate in my bag. Oh well. Hope my brother enjoys the child support payments. That should make him even more bitter when he tries to compare paychecks.

It's Alive!
Death in My Family
DAMMIT! Way to ruin a great night.
It died on me last night, and I think my warranty expired at the end of last year. I'm stopping by the Apple store in the Willow Bend mall on my way home tonight to see what they can do.
I'm sad, luckily I have my 1st Gen Shuffle to hold me over. God forbid I actually have to pop in a CD.
P.S. That's not my hand/picture.
I R A HUGE KNURD
I actually felt stupid for buying it yesterday, mainly because of the cause, but when I got home last night and opened it, I thought it was money well spent.
It's bigger than I thought (Yes, that's what she said...ha ha ha...you're very funny)
It's well built. Not particularly heavy, but not flimsy either. It's solid. Does not feel cheap at all.
It's cool seeing Master Chief's helmet 6 inches from your face (That's what she said!...ok that one is kinda funny)
Very Impressive
Cool thing is it comes with a slip cover, and when you put it on over the helmet, it looks like a ninja.
P.S. Seeing that I didn't take these pictures, that I took them of the interwebs, it's come to my attention (AGAIN!) that I need a digital camera. I must be the last person on earth that doesn't have one. I think my AMEX points may be put to use real soon.

The Roots at House of Blues
I've been waiting on this show for a while now, and the past 2 days have just crawled by.
It's the second time I'll be going to the House of Blues. I went about a month ago to see Shinedown (who?), but that was more about checking out the place than the music. I think I may have had a post about....or I just never finished it. Gotta check.
All I know is that they better play "The Seed", or I'll be disappointed.
Tomorrow's another day I'm looking forward to, as A&M is playing Miami on National TV, and while I'm a little nervous, I really think we can win, which will help our teams confidence and really springboard us into conference play.

College Football
A first grade teacher explains to her class that she
is a Texas Tech fan.
She asks her students to raise their hands if they
are Texas Tech fans too.
Not really knowing what a Texas Tech fan was, but
wanting to be liked by their teacher, their hands fly into the air.
There is, however, one exception.
Susie has not gone along with the crowd.
The teacher asks her why she has decided to be
different. "Because I'm not a Texas Tech fan" she reports.
"Then," asks the teacher, "what are you?"
"I'm a TEXAS A&M fan" boasts the little girl.
The teacher asks Susie why she was a TEXAS A&M fan.
"Well, my Dad and Mom are Aggie fans, so I'm an Aggie
fan too" she responds.
"That's no reason," the teacher says. "What if your
mom was a moron, and your dad was an idiot. "What would you be then?"
the teacher asks..
Susie smiles and says, "Then I'd be a Texas Tech fan."
HAHA! tceh sucks!

More Gameday Videos
2007 Team Entrance: I know people rip on this entrance, but I kinda like it.
We Bleed Maroon music video: (Cause Aggies everywhere haven't heard enough about this song)
You know what, I can't believe they actually played that at the game. This belongs at the bar at closing time or some shit like that. Hopefully it was played at halftime and not before the game, although I doubt it.

Does Anyone Else Think...
As a super fun side note that I'll use on him for a while (he would always win on the N64), I kicked my brother's ass at NBA Showtime 75-74. He was the f'in Orlando Magic, and I was the Knicks (it's an older game, and they're the only team I could remember being good before the timer ran out). Intense game. Very back and forth.

It was closer than the score seems. I was down 13-10, in the middle of the fourth with the ball, somewhere around the 30. I have my speed qb (Jerrod Johnson) in for a speed option play, and I let him keep it and take it upfield. He ends up fumbling and I lose the ball. LSU drives down and scores a touchdown.
Next possession, times getting critical, and I start moving the ball downfield by passing. I end up throwing an interception, which he ends up running back to the 2 yard line cause that's when my qb (McGee) finally decided to push him out of bounds (for some reason, it wouldn't let me switch to him). Of course LSU punches it in for the score.
Another close game lost for me. I fall to 1-4 in the league (I didn't think I was that bad), although I play tOSU next week, and he's arguably worse than me.

Tuesday...
The one I'm really excited about and one that needs more attention is Friday Night Lights.
The underdog show of the 2006-07 season. It's gotten tons critical praise and if you watch it, you get +5 street cred points. It's the best writen and best acted show on tv right now. It's got a great price, 19.99 (for 22 "hour long" episodes).
A couple of small downsides. downside: It's broadcast in HD, but no HD DVD. They've replaced some music from the original airing and the set is a little light on the extras, but that was done to help get to the low price.
Do yourself a favor and go get this one. This show needs more fans. They even have a money back guarantee if you don't like the season. That's pretty sweet that they put up a deal like that. There's really no reason to get this.
4 days and counting....
Still, it's hard not to be excited when you've got this guy in your backfield.
1000 yards, 24 TDs for 2007 is his goal. Hopefully, he can surpass match/surpass that.
But if CFN is right, and we only win 27-14 against Montana State, then we've got major problems.
Montana State at Texas A&M 7:05 PM
Why to Watch: Montana State is no pushover. The Bobcats are coming off a good year, losing to eventual national champion Appalachian State in the playoffs, but on a national scale, they're known more for being the team that beat Colorado 19-10 in season opener. This is a solid, ranked team that'll need everything in the bag to have any shot of pulling off the shocker, but it has a good run defense and a potentially dangerous passing offense. A&M needs to come out roaring to kick off a light first three weeks of the season before traveling to Miami. Anything less than a blowout will get the Aggie nation grumbling.
Why Montana State Might Win: The Texas A&M pass defense will be merely average early on, and MSU will be more than happy to bomb away. Jack Rolovich, a former Hawaii Warrior, threw too many picks after taking over late last year after starter Cory Carpenter went down. They can both throw deep and they're both good enough to come up with a scoring drive or two if and when A&M gets up. The Aggies won't be able to relax even if they get out to a big lead.
Why Texas A&M Might Win: The MSU run defense might have been great last year, but facing the Aggie ground game is a completely different story. The O line appears to be the best yet in the Dennis Franchione era by far, and it'll take eight men in the box to deal with the running tandem of Mike Goodson and Jorvorskie Lane. QB Stephen McGee should be able to crank out short to midrange passes to his heart's content.
Who to Watch: Everything appears to be in place for A&M to have a big year, but there will be several close games and sophomore Matt Szymanski has to produce. Layne Neumann was a rock-solid kicker, while Szymanski waited his turn despite being a highly touted recruit and missing several attempts early on last year. The coaching staff wants to see what the kicking game can do and if it can be relied on. There won't pressure situation in this game that Szymanski will have to deal with later on in the year, so if he misses, the panic sirens will go off.
What Will Happen: The Aggie ground game will keep the time of possession in its favor in a workmanlike, unspectacular win. Montana State will come up with a few big passes to get everyone squirming, but A&M will always respond.
CFN Prediction: Texas A&M 27 ... Montana State 14 ... Line: No Line
Must See Rating: (5 Hef wants you to take his place on The Girls Next Door, but you can’t because you have to watch this game - 1 Cavemen) ... 1
While I think that they're a little (A LOT!) off on the score, I don't think we should have a problem with this team. It is funny that they picked SMU over the techtards. I'll probably be at that game. Should be fun.
7:49 PM, I'm Back in Business
to this: (insert pic of getting killed by the VIP when I can find it)
Gawd I'm a little rusty at Rainbow Six Vegas
Anyways, UPS finally delivered my 360 at 7:49 last night. First off, I can't believe UPS delivered it that late. I sat around at home because I didn't want to miss the UPS man (that's fucking commitment baby!) and I didn't get a chance to go workout (aww...I'm sad...really I am).
Second, well I don't know if there is a second. Wait, yes there is. Total time from bricking my 2nd Xbox and getting my 3rd? (Died 8/10 about 4:30) 2 weeks, 3 days, 4 hours...ish. Not bad turnaround and no expense to me, but shit, I shouldn't have to return a video game console, let alone 2 of them.
Third, I finally got my notification (this morning) from Microsoft that they've shipped my console...
Dear Thomas * *&^%$, (Ha, that makes my last name look like a curse word!)

Best Monday morning in 9 months
Cause it's Game Week! Offseason is over. College Football is back!
I was so pumped that this morning when I was getting dressed, I was already debating with A&M Polo I would wear (see this post: Score!). It's a home game, so I'm going with Maroon. Now it's between the last years model, a.k.a. "new" or the old faithful one that has a 1-7 (I think) record. Yea, so right now I'm leaning towards the new (to me) polo and just retiring the old one.
Here's a little tsip humor to help get the smack talking started.
1. What do you call a drug ring in Austin ?
A huddle
2. Four UT Longhorns in a car, who's driving?
The police.
3. The UT Longhorns have adopted a new "Honor System".
Yes your Honor, No your Honor.
4. The UT Longhorns knew they had to do something for their defense, so they hired a new defensive coordinator:
F. Lee Bailey.
5. How do the UT Longhorns spend their first week at fall practice?
Studying their Miranda Rights.
6. What do you say to a Longhorn in a suit?
Will the defendant please rise?
7. If you see Longhorn football player on a bike, why don't you swerve to hit him?
It might be your bike!
8. The Longhorns employ scouts.
But to look out for cops, not to scout high school kids.
9. I heard a rumor that the Texas Department of Corrections plans build a new prison in Austin , Texas in order to allow Longhorns to walk to school.
10. What do you call it, when a Longhorn goes on vacation?
Time off for good behavior.
11. Why couldn't the Longhorn get into a huddle on the football field?
It's a parole violation to associate with known felons.
12. Obviously Coach Mack Brown is not paying his players if they have to resort to robbing people.
13. Book 'em, Horns!
Good luck to Montana State...you're gonna need it.

Well At Least "Brown" Has It Together
Sweet! Looks like my Xbox is on it's way back. Actually, it's currently in Dallas. I expect it to be delivered Monday (hello reason to leave work early!)!
Just got an automated message giving me a tracking number ( 1Z 05W 358 42 2013 055 7) for a package that has to be signed for on delivery.
By the way, copying down a tracking number by hand sucks. Damn those things are long. (That's what she said...wait, what?) I'm way to used to ctrl+c, ctrl+v from an email.

Way to go Microsoft. A simple email telling me the tracking number would have been nice.
Fuck it. As long as you give me a quieter system that runs cooler, I'll be okay (funny thing, the spell check on Firefox says I should spell "okay" "tokay". Think I can start that trend?). Anyways, I'm dying to play Bioshock. Everybody I know will have finished it by the time I get to start it, which kinda sucks cause I hear the story is great and I don't want to be spoiled on it.
The other thing I need to do is get caught back up with my league games. LSU is my opponent this week (I'm pretty sure) , and he's leading the league I'm in. I'm sure I'll get my ass handed to me, and not just cause I'm out of practice. I've got to get some practice games in before I play him, so it's not too lopsided of a game.
Folow my ineptitude here at League Daddy. Take a guess on what team I'm using.

SModcast
Bascically it's these 2 guys (director and producer, best friends )just hanging out and talking about nothing and everything (...all at once....). They ramble on and tell stories and to me, it's fucking hilarious. I've been listening to it for about a week, I'm on # 5 (they do one about once a week) and it's some damn good stuff. If you've got some free time or a long commute, I highly recommend it.
Another Saturday Spent Working...
Anyways, the good thing about being here is you can catch up on online videos and things like that.
Couple of new things worth noting:
17 minutes of Prison Break Season 3 Premier
While Season 2 was re-damn-diculous (although once my expectations completely bottomed out, I started to enjoy it), this little clip is actually pretty damn good. I'm actually kinda looking forward to this new season. Looks like a good setup to the season.
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia Pre-Season 3 Episode
Very funny show that needs more love. I'm actually in the process of watching this one, but so far it's pretty damn good. Can't wait for the middle of September, which is coming up pretty fast. Damn this year is flying by. Have I done anything worthwhile?

This is some Good Ass Game!
Kratos, is a bad muthafucker, and my new hero. Seriously, Sam Jackson can just hand over the wallet right now. He fucking kicks ass and doesn't take any shit.
The bolsses in this game are huge and pretty freaking impressive. They're also fun to kill.
(NOTE: I'm not sure if all of these are from GOW, as some may be from GOWII. Still, you get the jist)
I guess this is the silver lining to having my 360 in the shop as I don't know when I would have gotten to play these
I'm hoping to finish this game soon as I badly want to move on to play God of War II.

Say Hello to "Short Side Option"
Here's the cast:
QB: Drew Brees & Tony Romo
RB: Shaun Alexander, Thomas Jones, and Lamont Jordan
WR: Torry Holt, Marques Colston, Dwayne Jarrett
TE: Jason Witten and Desmond Clark
Kicker: Shayne Graham & Olindo Mare
DEF: Dallas & Denver
Thoughts?
I basically went off the rankings that were in SI a few weeks ago. Receivers always give me trouble. I'm taking a bit of a chance on Dwayne Jarrett, but I expect him to be solid. Does Torry Holt still have it?
Here's to hoping that Shaun Alexander comes back strong this year. I also expect good things from Thomas Jones.
I hope New Orleans run last year wasn't a fluke, cause I'm gonna need Drew Brees this year. Romo also better keep improving.
I think Dallas defense should be pretty stout this year, if everything I've read on it (which actually isn't much) is true. Wade Phillips is letting them loose.
Anyways, the live draft last night was bor...fucking...ing. Gawd that sucked. 90 minutes I'll never get back. The people I'm playing with (LCVG crew) are kinda lame. I was purposely trying to stir it up, sometimes to no avail.
360 Console Watch....Day 8
Looks like I'm getting a newer 360 returned to me.
SN: 907152473305
If I'm reading that right it's BOD: week ending August 18, 2007. Factory #5. I'll have to look that up.
Damn, that's pretty new. Let's see how quickly I get an email notice that it's gone out.

The Adventures of Matt in Holland or: Mr. Holland's Opus
My friend from high school is in The Netherlands, The Hague specifically, for an internship with the UN at the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY).
These are his crazy adventures (with pictures!).
*Not that many people will be interested in this one, it's more for me to have a place to put the link to his blog. Yea, a bookmark would probably be more practical, but then, what the hell would I put on here? Think man, think!

Leaked Dark Knight Stills
Some of those you've seen, some are new. May be considered spoilers. I may upload a few of them when I get a chance. I'm heading out for the weekend.

Live at Radio City
This one came as a surprise to me as I haven't really heard anything about it until a few days before it's release. It's another Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds cd, which I guess is a follow up to the Live at Luther College cd they made, which happens to be one of my all time favorites (seriously, it's the top 5 for sure, and probably in the top 3).
While I'm sad to see one of my all time favorite songs on their (Satellite), but it looks like alot of the classics, including Crash, are on there and it seems that there are plenty of newer DMB songs as well. I was, however, hoping to see a "All Along the Watchtower" version with just Dave and Tim, as the DMB cover is probably my favorite (yes, it edges out Jimi's...)
Looking forward to giving this a listen as soon as I can clear out a few more Podcasts.

Your service.xbox.com site still hasn't been updated, and I don't feel like waiting on hold for 15 minutes just to talk to somebody with such a heavy Indian accent, that I can barely understand them.
I swear I'm this close (*holds up fingers like an inch apart...just so we're clear) to going to get a PS3 for $350.

Plan is to get home early enough to get the package out of the Apartment leasing office, box up the console and take it to a UPS station tonight. I'm on a race to get the console back before Bioshock drops next Tuesday. Sadly, it's a race I don't think I'll win.

Another One Bites the Dust....
EFFFF!
Turned on the console today to try out Jet Set Radio Future that I bought off of before I left for Houston. I also wanted to go ahead and leave feedback on the guy before it was too late.
It froze on the boot up screen. Turned the system off, then back on. Thought to my self, as I walked back to the kitchen, "Damn I hope the thing doesn't break on me". Turn back to look, and I see the 3 Red lights. Red Ring of Death.
Console # 2 (yes, my second) is dead.
Called Xbox Support imediately after, and after being routed to Microsoft India, I get them to send me the coffin. This should be fun to track.

Aggie War Hymn (Guitar Hero)
This may be reason enough to go get a PS2. There seems to be a pretty big mod scene for Guitar Hero on the PS2.

Gangstas! What's up guys.
McLovin, that sounds like a sexy hamburger
I can't decide which quote I like more, the one in the title, or the one directly above. Hilarious.
OK, this is probably the last movie I really want to see this summer (I never saw the previous Bourne's, so that rules out the last one until I see them) and it looks to be hilarious. Michael Cerra is a comedic genius, and you should know that from watching Arrested Development.
Now check out this clip...and it's probably NSFW.
I was dying laughing when I first saw that.

Funnier Gif
or
Funny thing. I have a voice that screams this in my head, in either a little kid voice or an Asian voice (depending on which one I'm looking at) each time the kid does it. It's like a bad Aggie joke where you could keep me busy for hours (ok, days really) just buy putting these in front of me.
As funny at the Asian one is, the little black kid is still my favorite. Probably because of the little black kid voice that goes off on my head.

The Better Line...
Messenger: A thousand nations of the Persian empire descend upon you. Our arrows
will blot out the sun!
Stelios: Then we will fight in the shade.
or
Messenger: Who does this woman think she is that she can speak among men?
Queen Gorgo: Because only Spartan women give birth to real men.
Probably my two of my favorite lines from this awesome movie.

The Dark Knight
Fah-king Sah-weet!
Here's the link to the trailers.
Wait for the Joker's laugh near the end. Damn that's gonna be good.
I Can't Decide
This one has The Zone in the background.
Same, shot, but this time, you can see the 12th Man TV in the background, and the screen is showing the same thing, so you have that cool effect where you keep seeing the same image, like when you can look into infinity when you hold up two mirrors facing each other.
Personally, I think I like the first picture better, although, when I first took them, they one with the replay board was my favorite.
EA Sports World Photos
EA Sports World Videos
That should take you to the website, where you can view the other photos and videos I've uploaded. This is EA's new feature for the year, and I think it's great. I just wish I could upload more photos and videos than they currently allow. Halo 3 will have this same feature, which will be great cause we have some really fun matches. They're even better if you can hear us talk about shit during the match.
Here's another one that I took, that I just think is cool as hell.

Dear Recruiters
Also, don't act like you're my friend when I've never met you. You're pathetic. I'm not your fucking "buddy". I've hung up on you before. Take a hint, dooshbag.

Wee Block
Have you ever heard of this? I just saw it (No, I'm not actively looking for baby stuff....well maybe I should If what I hear about my brother is true...)
Still, I think this is hilarious...but then again, I still laugh when the ketchup (catsup?) bottle makes a fart noise.
