30 Rock Season 3!

Watch it now on Hulu. I know I did. Work be damned.

Then watch it again next week.

Tracy: "Sales of my video game are through the rizz-noof!"
Jenna: "So, how far through the rizz-noof are they?"
Dot Com: "Whoa, that's not slang. He actually has a speech impediment."

Tracy: "No, I think I did do it alone. And this check: is the priz-noof."
Dot Com: "Now that was just him being obnoxious."

Wildcard Bitches!

Always Sunny started Season 4 on Thursday with 2 great episodes. Here's a clip from the 2nd episode, "The Gang Solves the Gas Crisis" which had me rolling, especially this clip.

You should definitely check it out. Highly, highly, highly recommended.

Watching Dexter - Random Thought

While watching episode 6 of season 1, I had to laugh at myself. I was rooting for the main character (and this isn't much of a spoiler) who is a serial killer to not get caught.

But it's a serial killer with a code. Which brings up some interesting moral questions.

As a quick aside...it turns out some of my favorite movies are movies where the director can get me rooting for the character where if you apply real world morals to him, he's considered the bad guy. Hello Godfather.

Anyways, I'm going through these pretty fast (2 seasons, 12 eps each). Great show. Michael C. Hall is great, but I knew that from 6 Feet Under. Great characters. I'm not sure how CBS is treating the show since they started airing it, but I would definetly recommend the Showtime version. Probably not as toned down in the nudity (yes there are tiddays...love spelling it that way) and blood/gore.

Anxiously awaiting Season 3. Jimmy Smits is joining the show. He's pretty solid.

Definetly recommend the show if you're looking for something to watch.

Smallvile Done

Caught up with Season 7 this afternoon after a marathon session. Not sure why after I had quit it after season 4, but I was curious to see where the Lex storyline was going. Season 5 and 6 really turned the series around (not as many freak of the weeks, not soo much Lana pining). I really gotta say S7 was pretty entertaining. Clarks cousin, (Supergirl?) was a nice addition. Just so we're clear, by nice I mean hot. Lex's journey is pretty much complete. He's E-vil. Lana's role is kept to a bare minimum, and when she does show up, it's not as annoying. Chloe is as cute as ever, but in order to meet up with the Superman stories we know, she has to die right? Sadly, Lois is barely around and when she is, she doesn't show off her body. Bummer.

The whole Justice League characters are mentioned and refered to, but they don't get much screen time either, which is a bit of a shame. After seeing the great episode in Season 6 where they take down one of Lex's facilities, I had high hopes for this season.

After some debate, I'm starting Season 1 of Dexter.

Tuesday...

Ok so 2 great shows make their way home on DVD/HD DVD today. Heroes, of course is the one getting all the press and is well worth your time. It's a great show, even if the finale was a little (lot) anticlimatic. If you can find it cheap (AMAZON) I highly recommend it. It's the new hotness (and LOST was sucking ass for a while, although it did pick it up at the end).

The one I'm really excited about and one that needs more attention is Friday Night Lights.

The underdog show of the 2006-07 season. It's gotten tons critical praise and if you watch it, you get +5 street cred points. It's the best writen and best acted show on tv right now. It's got a great price, 19.99 (for 22 "hour long" episodes).

A couple of small downsides. downside: It's broadcast in HD, but no HD DVD. They've replaced some music from the original airing and the set is a little light on the extras, but that was done to help get to the low price.

Do yourself a favor and go get this one. This show needs more fans. They even have a money back guarantee if you don't like the season. That's pretty sweet that they put up a deal like that. There's really no reason to get this.

Robot Chicken: Star Wars

Yesterday, Robot Chicken had a special episode where they "spoof" (that sounds dirtier than it should....maybe we should start using it that way) Star Wars. They even had the help from George Lucas and ILM, so that means it's official and shit.

They've done Star Wars on the show before, pretty damn well I might add. Check this out.

Here's the same scene, embedded from Adult Swim. I just wanna compare quality.

Hilarious. "What the hell is an aluminum falcon?"

Anyway. Here's the link to the Adult Swim site where you can watch the entire special, along with interviews of the creators (Seth Green and some other guy) talking about each skit. Highly recommended.

Another great clip involves Admiral Ackbar

Hilarious. "It's a trap!"...."Your taste buds can't repel flavor of this magnitude!"

Another skit that I Can't stop laughing at involves Jar Jar.

If you like Star Wars, it's well worth your time. If you don't like Star Wars, then we can't be friends.

WEEDS

No I'm not doing lawn care (you racist sonuvabitch). I'm not toking up either, but damn it if it wasn't tempting to after watching Season 1 set. Seriously, just do it recreationally, not become like a big pothead. Sound like fun? Any takers?

Very funny show that runs on Showtime. I had heard about it and how good it was, but since I don't subscribe, I never got the chance untill I found the dvd set for cheap earlier in the year. Thank god for the slow summer months tv goes through. Season 1 has 10 episodes at about 30 minutes each. Went through it in 2 evenings. Loved it. Very funny stuff and it was glad to see Kevin Nealon in something again. I thought he was funny in the Weekend Update chair of SNL, and he's funny in this as well. Anyway, recommend stuff. I think Season 2 comes out at the end of this month and ait quickly became a must buy.

Now here's a YT (YT...Oh look at me! I'm abreviating short words. I'm hip.... piece from Season 1 that had me rolling on the floor.

Day and a Half

...to go through Season 1 of Veronica Mars. Lazy Sunday...or damn good TV? Probably a little bit of both. What feels like the spiritual successor to Buffy the Vampire Slayer starts of good and gets better through the entire run of the 1st season.
Great cast of characters. Veronica has the pop culture down, which makes for some great lines in the show. Logan ended up being my favorite. Smartass and funny. There's a season long mystery arc that gets put together slowly through the season. There's also stories, or cases as she's a unofficial P.I., that span from 1 episode to a few episodes. No real filler episodes.
Oh, and here's the opening credits to the show which is done by The Dandy Warhols. Can you guess the name of the song? Anyways, I like the song. It's probably one of my favorite TV themesongs.

Minka Kelly & Friday Night Lights

Since it's been week since the best new tv show had it's season (hopefully, since it hasn't been renewed yet) finale, it's time to retire Minka's picture.

Yes, cheerleader outfit time. Very quacktastic.

There's better screenshots out there, I just have to find them.

Unfortunately, I need to keep searching for pictures. There's not much out there for this chick...yet.

Here's to hoping this show gets renewed. It's too damn good not to. Come on America, stop with this American Idol bullshit, and start watching some real TV shows.

Chicken Dance from Arrested Development

Just cause I needed a laugh to wake me up this morning. This never gets old. One of my favorite ongoing jokes from the series.

24, Day 6, Prequel, 2 of 2

Part 2.

24, Day 6, Prequel, 1 of 2

(Click the link, till I can embed the video)
It's December, so that means we're a little more than a month away from the return of Jack Bauer. To help make the wait more unbearable, here's part 1 of the prequel to Day 6. Apparently Day 5 was sold early, and the prequel has been put up on You Tube.
God Bless You

Scrubs has a Return Date!!!

"Let me go ahead and share alittle something special with you that I like to call Perry's perspective: One, if someone is standing in front of me in line at the coffee shop and can't decide what they want in the half hour it took to get to the register then I should be allowed to kill them; Two, I am fairly sure that if they took porn off the internet, there would only be one website left and it would be called bring back the porn; Three, and most importantly of all, the only way to be respected as a doctor and a man is to be an island, you are born alone, you damn sure die alone. Isn't that right Spike? The point is, and you might want to jot this down, only the weak need help"

Ha! As usual, there's a You Tube video of this rant. Here's the link until I can embed.

"But Thomas, why the random Scrubs Post? "

Futon Critic

Scrubs returns to NBC on November 30. That's a Thursday!
NBC is bringing back the 2 hour comedy block going with My Name is Earl, The Office, Scrubs and 30 Rock. Pretty solid comedy block if you ask me.
