Highlights from Aggie Game

From frustrating to amazing.

Monster dunk from our Freshman.

Cookie (the Nebraska player) gets posterized.

And the game clincher.

The misssed layup by Sloan almost made me pull my hair out in frustration.

But then it was oh, so sweet. I believe they're calling it "The Shucker".

The Jordan Rules - First Impressions

Jordan was a bit of an asshole. By "bit", I mean he was a huge ego driven asshole. Almost like a bully. Funny to hear what he really thinks about his teammates, coaches (he really never liked anybody but his first coach). He didn't think anybody could actually play.

Apparently...

this is not a foul.

Here's an LA Times picture...so you know I'm not being biased and shit.

Dunking

Read a pretty good article in SI today, (yea the magazine....yea they still have that, if only for the swimsuit issue but still) and it had a pretty sweet article on dunking (basketball, not your mom). Linky Here (which brings me to another point...why do I subscribe again?)

Still, there's a great shot of a Vince Carter jam in the olympics that I have not seen until then...er now....whatever tense it's suppossed to be in. I think it's bloody fantastic! (bloody? what the hell are you British now?)

The aftermath of that dunk is arguably better than the dunk itself.

Carter first garnered national attention for his high-flying brand of play during his three years at North Carolina. NBA renown came with his novel "elbow dunk" to clinch victory in the 2000 dunk contest. But international acclaim would follow months later during America's run to the gold medal at the Sydney Olympics, where his eye-popping dunk over French 7-footer Frédéric Weis became known worldwide as le dunk de la mort ("the dunk of death").

How fucking awesome is that? The whole country made fun of that guy, which is really bad since the French themselves are the ass of many jokes (you see what I did there?). To be the ass of the jokes by the people that are constantly picked on...well there's not much worse than that.

Here's another dunk they mention in the article....Baron Davis dunk over Kirilenko in the 07 playoffs. Nasty.

Go HERE for more sweet dunks...all linked in one place. Nice job.

You tell em Acies coming...

and Hell's coming with him.

All right, Calipari... you called down the thunder, well now you've got it! You see that? It says Texas A&M! [referring to Penn & Louisville, laying dead] Take a good look at him, Calipari... 'cause that's how you're gonna end up! The Tigers are finished, you understand? I see a Memphis jersey, I kill the man wearin' it! So run, you cur... RUN! Tell all the other curs the law's comin'! You tell 'em I'M coming... and hell's coming with me, you hear?... Hell's coming with me!

Great thread at the Texas Basketball Forum where the farker's (mainly Cuppycup) are at it again. That's the original picture, which by itself is pretty badass.

Here are some of my favorites.

That one's my favorite. Check out this link, for it to be set to the Jaws music.

That reminds me, I'll have to find and post the links to the "Fran needs a 'Stache" thread and the "Billy Gillispie is a Rockstar". Those are fun reads.

Hello Aggie Basketball...

It's been a while, but it's time you get some attention. We've been a little busy with football, but last night you had a Nationally (or was it regionally...eh well it sounds better the other way) televised non conference game. When's the last time that happened?

Well I use the term televised loosely, as I didn't get to see the 1st half. It seems that FSW had to show the Mavs game until it ended, which meant we missed the entire 1st half. Oh well, Dave and Dave isn't to bad to listen to during basketball season. At least this Saturday's UCLA game will be televised on CBS in its entirety.

For a while there, it seemed that Dwayne Wade was playing for LSU. Anytime Davis touched the ball, they called a foul on A&M. It was quite impressive that they protect him that much, considering he's the biggest guy on the court. It's really anyong (yes, that's intentional as it's an Arrested Development joke) because he got the same treatment last year in the NCAA tournament.

I won't put all the blame on refs though. We didn't shoot the ball very well. I wasn't a fan of the gameplan either. Joseph Jones needs to stop getting into early foul trouble. That just ruined his night, and he couldn't really perform as well as he usually does. That's killer. Acie didn't have his usual game either. Hopefully, they'll both bounce back this weekend.

Now, as for the Cookie Monster.

Thanks goes to the posters at Texags: Aggie Basketball Forum for this picture. Apparently, they found the interview with Davis as hilarious as I did. "Cookies...man I love cookies. To me they're amazing! I can't even describe...cookies!" I swear that was hilarious. If I find it on You Tube, I'll put it up.

One last note, it was real classy to hear LSU fans chant "Aggies Suck" and have it be clearly audible on tv. I would complain about the "overrated" chant they started, but it was actually kinda nice to hear that about Aggie Basketball.

Anyways, I hope we get another chance to play these chumps. I really think we can take them.
